Dia bukan bintang telenovela.).
Curhatan pun mulai mengalir dari ujung jari saya.

Saya meminta pendapat
Saya diberi masukan
Bahkan, saya dipuji. Pujian yang bener2 membuat saya bahagia.

Sekarang,
saya merasa lega
Saya merasa lebih kuat
saya merasa bersyukur
Bersyukur karena mengambil keputusan yang tepat
Bersyukur punya temen cowo

But why oh why musti putus ditengah jalan?? Sinyal kurang ajar. Untung Dek Fernando berjanji meneruskan nanti. Pasti saya tagih lo dek. Gaji saja belum dibayar.

Anyway,
Tapi beliau hanya tertawa-tawa saja. Kurang ajar.

Terima kasih kepada teknologi.
Terima kasih kepada Yahoo! Messenger.

Edward
Wednesday 20 August 2008 3:17 pm
I think, At some point,
Everyone dreams of finding..
An Edward.
Someone whose name you call, or whisper.
And he's right there waiting.
Someone who hums a lullaby,
And holds you close, as you drift off.
Someone who seems to just glitter, in the Sunlight,
Whose eyes are often Topaz,
Warm,
And Reassuring.
Someone who takes you to dinner,
And ignores the pretty waitress.
Someone who follows you,
Watches you always,
Secretly, Just to be sure..
You're always okay.
Someone Romantic,
Yet has a good sense of humor.
Someone Ancient, Yet Young.
Who'll save your life, No matter what.
Who cries when you're injured.
Someone who cleans out even the deadliest wounds,
However impossibly hard it may be.
Someone to take you to your prom,
Despite your complaints,
Who teaches you to waltz,
As you stand on his feet.
Someone who just knows when it's time.
When forever really means forever.
And takes you away,
For years to come.

by Hatzeh

When I first read the poem, it sent the butterflies in my stomach flutter everywhere!

The thing I like most about Twilight series is not the blood-rushing thrill or the forbidden passion. It’s Edward Cullen that always had my full attention. His every word, his every gesture, even his wrong-doing, is a too-perfect version of affection. I know it’s OVERLY clichéd but as a little girl I once had a dream about finding my own Edward. It's nice to fantasize about and no matter how old I am there is a teeny tiny part of me that always believes that the world is a lovely place.

Yes I think we all want an Edward in our life, but he is perfect and men are never perfect, but that is how you know you really love someone when you can love them despite there many flaws.

My bf is no Edward. He is not romantic. He often makes fun of me.
But to see him is amazing. Being close to him is overwhelming. And that's the feeling I don't want to let go.

Semangat Tujuh-belas-an
Saturday 16 August 2008 6:39 pm

Haha..siapa tahu?

Lalu pertanyaan kedua yaitu mengenai raut wajah.

Kangen pacar..hehehe…

Ditengah-tengah topik tentang kuliah, saya mengalihkan pembicaraan dengan sebuah cerita.

Saya: “Nek, aku gendutan de. Tadi pas mandi aku lihat dipaha ada lemak-lemak gitu kaya kulit jeruk. Sedikit sih. Apa itu yang namanya selulit ya, nek? Anehnya badan anita bagian atas kan kurus banget tuh. Tapi bagian perut ampe bawah berdaging banget. Orang-orang suka komentar aku kurus. Mereka belom tau aja kalau aku ngaca bugil.”

Nenek: “Makanya olahraga dong. Nenek aja udah tua gini masih bugar. Kerjaanya tidur mulu si.”

Saya: “Olahraga sih udah di coba, nek. Tapi banyak setannya.” (Termasuk pacar saya :P)

Tiba-tiba nenek menjurus ke arah yang lain.

Nenek: “Ta, jangan make celana-celana ngetat lagi, ah! Kalau engga pake rok aja udah! Haram tau hukumnya!”

Menohok.

Private Practice (Season 1): "In Which Sam Gets Taken For a Ride"
Tuesday 12 August 2008 10:41 pm
I didn't watch this show regularly, because, like pretty much everyone else who watched the pilot of this show in Grey’s Anatomy, I thought it sucked. They took the best character on Grey’s Anatomy and turned her into Meredith, one of the worst characters on TV.

Then I tried to watch the 1st episode of season 1. It sucked too. Although they haven’t changed Addison as drastically as they did in the previous pilot, she definitely isn’t the calm, cool professional she was on Grey’s. That Addison, the “world class neonatal surgeon” would never have taken a job at a clinic like this with its group of disfunctional adults (and I use that word loosely) or be dancing naked in her window.

But then, since I'm in my holiday, I have nothing better to do other than laying on the couch, holding remote control in my hand doing exercise called 'switching the channel'. So one day I watched another episode. Another one in the next two days. And one this evening.

I think it's getting better though not brilliant. Now on to today's episode.
Here a little summary.

So Violet and Cooper are planning to prove they can be “friends with benefits”, and Addy and Pete plan to consummate their newfound relationship.

Their patients aren’t having as much luck:

- a widow is giving birth alone, while her dead husband’s co-workers, what looks like the entire police force, wait in the lobby
- a harried mother of 3 boys, expecting a baby girl this time out, refuses to accept it when she gives birth to yet another son
- and Sam goes on a housecall which turns out to be a convenience store where an armed robber is about to give birth

Of course, all the patients’ issues are handled and the doctors are the ones who are unable to bring their plans to fruition. Unexpectedly, when Sam returns to the office, he finds himself alone with his ex-wife, Naomi. When he tells her what happened, their emotions get away from them and the scene fades as he throws her on the table and they tear each other’s clothes off.

There is only one thing I want to highlighted in the scene with Susan, the widow.
She opens up to Pete and tells him how lonely she's become without her husband. Pete in return opens up to her about his late wife and tells Susan that things get better and that she just has to hold onto the good memories.

But then she ask, this interesting line,

"Does it really get better or you just bury it deeper?"

Beauty: What is Beauty?
Monday 11 August 2008 9:55 pm
Beauty is an idea. And everyone's idea of beauty is unique. What you think of as beautiful is shaped by your own life experiences and personal perspectives.

We often think of beauty as what makes us appealing to the people around us, especially potential mates (or dates). But I think beauty is a function of culture, too–-and there are lots of ideas floating around our culture about what is considered beautiful. When ideas about beauty make powerful impacts, they can become beauty ideals.

What is ideal beauty?

Classical Greek philosophers Plato and Aristotle were the first to explore the concept. And our culture is still influenced by this focus on beauty ideals. The ideals may evolve over time, or they may seem stuck in a permanent loop. Sometimes it can seem like beauty is all about trying to live up to an ideal. Which is pretty much a hopeless pursuit, because ideas and ideals aren't real. We are. So, define you own beauty for yourself.

A lot of what we know about beauty throughout history comes from art. Our modern images of beauty are seen in movies, magazines, and on TV. But before these modern media existed, painting, sculpture, and early photography were the visual sources for images of beauty. Even the most "realistic" art and media is the product of choices made by the artist or media maker. These choices help shape and are shaped by the beauty ideals of the culture we live in.

The act of creating an image of beauty can be very powerful. Images can take on lives of their own, transforming one artist's idea of beauty into a cultural "idea" of beauty. For this reason, representations of women in art can take on a special status. So, while images of women in art give us a good idea of what people thought was beautiful at the time, they don't necessarily give us a good idea of what people really looked like.

If Monalisa wasn't in a painting, would they even think she was pretty? (Even now, I never slightly think that she is pretty) Just like magazines and TV today don't really represent an accurate cross section of people in the real world.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

What you see is defined by who you are. Whether you are looking at a person or photo, no one else will ever have the exact same view of something as you do. That's because no two people have the same brain or the same experiences. Your identity and psychology impact how you see everything, especially people. Your ideas and ideals are affected by your personal perspective.

The beauty ideals of society as a whole don't always correspond directly to the beauty ideals of individuals. At any given time in history, no matter what the ideal woman looked like, there were thousands and thousands of people who preferred her opposite. So whether or not you share the traits of the so-called beauty of the moment, it's likely that your kind of beauty will mesh with someone else's idea of beauty.

Some would say, "I love girls who look like monkeys!". Some other would say, "I love girls with more than one head!". While other group would say, "I love girls with green, prickly skin!".

The point is, beauty is however you see it. All the information in the world about beauty--taking into account your ideas, identity, and experiences--will be filtered through your eyes to create your own personalized beauty ideal.

Beauty isn't just an idea. It's your idea.

Review: The Dark Night
2:28 pm

THERE ARE NO SPOILERS. I will not spoil anything because this is a movie that everyone must see by themselves. But Christopher Nolan's revisited take on Batman has been rattling around my head since the night I watched it, and I need to jot down a few thoughts. If you haven’t seen this movie (meaning, if you live on another planet), then there’s the more reason why you NEED to read further.

It is everything that a movie fan like me ever hope for in a movie. It has a great plot, superb performances, and outstanding action sequences. Before this, the best Batman movie for me is Batman Returns because it is dark and sinister and it has a "twisted" and ironic love story between Batman/Bruce and Catwoman/Selina. Not to overstate it, but The Dark Knight is arguably not only the best comic book movie to date, but one of the best movie movies to date. I enjoyed it, and my boyfriend enjoyed it (not that his opinion really matter in the 1st place. Kidding :P).

What makes it good?

Well, first, there is the story making the nearly 3 hours just fly by in an exhausting rush. There are at least two points where the film seems to be escalating to its climax, only to build on that moment and raise the intensity up, yet again. The sub-plots don’t disturb the movie’s spine. Unlike Spider-Man 3, all of the baddies showing up in this film don’t get lost amidst each other and at the same time reintroduces the world to The Joker.

Chris and Jonathan Nolan really peer into the soul of humanity and find interesting — sometimes even biblical — allusions to paint their story. Joker’s repeated schemes that force others to kill or be killed; Batman’s fear that he has inadvertently “raised the bar” of criminality in Gotham; the many allusions to the corruption of power, most notably in Bruce Wayne’s “sonar experiment” that allows him to find anyone by using cell phone signals (a quick nudge-nudge at the Bush administration, I would imagine); and finally the power of terrorism and the panic that it brings, and how that can be exploited by someone strange enough to wield it.

I'm a fan of those too-few films showing "The Clean Win is a Lie.". The short version is this: Big stuff, important stuff, comes at a cost. There are people who are heroes, and they make sacrifices. Likewise, if there was a world with super heroes, they make would super-sacrifices.

Secondly, of course, there’s the acting.

Christian Bale. There’s something about the way he talks that I find interferes with my empathy for Bruce Wayne. And the image of him as a womanizer Bruce is not believable. I remain impressed by Michael Keaton’s portrayal above all others, even though I was — I’ll admit it — initially aghast at the casting choice.

The magnificent trio: Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman are all so comfortable in their recurring roles, it is hard to think of them as acting. They are simply "become" those characters and support Christian Bale to the finish line. Although, there is a fine line between being a support to the hero and driving his agenda and I think Alfred kinda crossed that line in this movie.

I am so happy that Maggie Gyllenhall replaces Katie Holmes. She doesn’t have Bond-girl beauty but she portrays a strong woman MUCH better than Mrs. Cruise. In a movie where almost all of the stars are men, I think Maggie does a good job in standing on her ground.

Aaron Eckhart, D.A. and more, with a storied career of his own, has perhaps his defining moments within this film. Gripping and tragic.

And that brings us to the greatest and most tragic part of the movie.
Heath Ledger redefines the Joker, bringing the insane brutality to the big screen. He was fantastic. I was completely wrong to think that the talk of Oscars was simply 'saying nice things about the dead'. Like Michael Caine said, it was simply the best performance of a villain I’ve seen.

He oozes menace. He dangles perfectly on the edge of sanity and insanity, and for me captures the Joker's menace and deliberate choice of insanity and chaos pretty much perfectly. With all due respect to Jack Nicholson, this is the Joker, and Ledger's performance will either keep everyone away from ever touching the role, or elevate it as the role to beat, and provides a tragic exclamation point to the senselessness of Ledger's death.

The Joker's story of his 'scars' (his Chelsea smile) changes in the story: he gives two different versions of how his face got cut.

“Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another… If I’m going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!” The Joker (Batman: The Killing Joke)

Everyone else in the film — and I include Batman in that — is simply reduced to an extra, as Heath Ledger’s character powers through the entire film. What a fantastic performance.

So, by all means make your own decision about whether or not to take children to see it (The Joker is magnificent but also brutal and sadistic), but if you are an adult, go and see this film.

Got that? Go and see this film. You will be blown away by Ledger’s performance — and I fully agree he deserves a posthumous Oscar for this. Go on, what are you waiting for?

The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J.K. Rowling's Latest Book
Saturday 2 August 2008 3:27 pm
The copies of the Original Handcrafted Edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, J.K. Rowling’s latest book, was on auction on December 2007, and there were only seven copies of the book in existence since then. Well, no more. Now everyone will be able to grab themselves a copy.

Amazon.com recently released pre-orders for J.K. Rowlings latest book The Tales of Beedle the Bard. There are two editions available. The Standard Edition which is being sold for a pre-order price of $7.59, or alternatively the Collector’s Edition which is being sold for a pre-order price of $100.00!!

The Tales of Beedle the Bard was the book that was given by Prof. Albus Dumbledore to Hermione Granger in the seventh novel of Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which also introduced the Deathly Hallows to the trio. In the Deathly Hallows, the book is described as a popular collection of wizarding children’s fairy tales, and the one in Hermione’s hand was the original edition. It is described as an ancient-looking small book with its binding “stained and peeling in places”. In the novel it is also said the book has a title on its cover, written in embossed runic symbols. Above the story The Tale of the Three Brothers, Hermione Granger finds a strange symbol which later is revealed by Xenophilius Lovegood to be the symbol of the Hallows. The triangle from the symbol represents the Invisibility Cloak, the circle inside the triangle symbolizes the Resurrection Stone, and the vertical line represents the Elder Wand. (I actually reread the book to get everything right :P)

JKR: "The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters’ Archive."

See how she made it sounds so REAL? I think it’s very cool.

I want the collectors edition SO MUCH but obviously I don’t have that kind of money, since I’m just a poor undergrad student. Maybe I will save up and hope there are still some left when I get the money and if not then it was not meant to be. I am happy just to get a copy of it and a JKR book for under $8.00 can not be beat. Thanks to those who have the 6 original copies for allowing this to happen we all really appreciate it. :)
